Welcome to Myddelton College

We are doing things very differently here. Through our use of 21st Century technology and skills in every lesson, to our ground-breaking Learning Through The Outdoors programme, we aim to provide a unique blend of 21st Century Learning and the best of British education in the heart of the Welsh countryside.

While we place high value and great emphasis on academic success, we also take a holistic view toward education and we value the arts, the outdoors and sporting ability just as highly.

This is what makes Myddelton College ‘more than just an education’.

About Myddelton College

Established on the beautiful 37½ acre campus of a former well-known independent boarding school, Myddelton College is a contemporary co-educational school located on the outskirts of the historic market town of Denbigh in the heart of North Wales, which boasts hundreds of years of history as well as plenty of amenities and is surrounded by spectacular Welsh countryside.

Why Choose Myddelton

Established on the site of a former well known school, Myddelton College is a fresh new co-educational school for the county town of Denbigh. Created with a vision of academic excellence with British education values instilled, Myddelton College is the ideal place for your child to enjoy their education. The college, taking its name from the local Myddelton family who lived in the town, provides an all-round education for boys and girls aged 9-18 for pupils from all backgrounds and is proud of the diverse student body we have.

There is a fantastic family atmosphere at Myddelton College, our class sizes are small and the teacher to pupil ratio is generous, enabling our dedicated teachers to deliver tailored learning for pupils of all academic abilities and permitting every individual to find the opportunity to excel, this also means that we really get to know our students as individuals; what they excel at and if they need extra support.

The decision to board is a huge step for every family, but here at Myddelton College we endeavour to create a boarding ‘family’, a ‘home away from home’ by nurturing a supportive, stimulating environment for our students in order to make their boarding experience a positive and enriching one.

Boarding offers students so much more than just an education. At the end of each academic day there are will be a choice of extra-Eleanor House Girls Roomcurricular activities for boarders. These could include learning a skill such as baking or animation, team sports such as hockey or football, stretching yourself in yoga or circuit training and an eco-aware activity in our veggie patch or biodiversity club. A regular talk from invited speakers on a range of fascinating topics is also planned for Wednesdays throughout the year.

Following tea, staff are on hand to help support you in your prep so that you can be better prepared for the next day’s lessons. This could include extra revision sessions, individual support and academic encouragement.
