London

The tour starts and ends in London. Accommodation is provided in historic Greenwich. All rooms are single, with bathrooms being shared between 5/6 students. After all students have arrived on the Tuesday, there will be a welcome introduction followed by some games for the students to meet each other. On Wednesday, the group will visit the Tower of London, before travelling to the famous Oxford Street. There will be a placement test in the evening to discover each student’s level of English for future classes.

York

York is a well-placed and beautiful city, at the half-way point between London and Edinburgh. The morning will be spent travelling from London to York. The accommodation is in a hotel, and all bedrooms are twins. During their time in York students will go into the city, to visit York Minster as well as the mediaeval streets and city walls. In the evening, students will learn about the history of York.

Edinburgh

Edinburgh is the longest stay on the programme and where all of the classroom teaching takes place. Students stay at Heriot Watt University in single, en-suite accommodation. For excursions to the city centre, students will be taken on the local bus service that takes around 20 minutes to get to the centre of Edinburgh. Trips include Edinburgh Castle, Arthur’s Seat, The Royal Mile, in addition to experience traditional Ceilidh dancing.

Ambleside, Lake District

Students stay in Ambleside, located on Lake Windermere. Rooms are dormitory style, with up to four students sharing a room. The group will enjoy a boat trip across Lake Windermere with free-time in the traditional countryside town of Bowness. After dinner, students will learn about how the Romantic Poets were inspired by the Lake District.

Old Trafford Stadium, Manchester

On the way to Cardiff the coach will stop off at the world-famous Old Trafford Stadium, home to Manchester United. Students will be taken on a tour of this iconic stadium, including a visit to the dressing room where footballing stars such as Wayne Rooney and Bastian Schweinsteiger get ready before matches.

Cardiff

During their time in the capital of Wales, students will stay in Cardiff University accommodation in single, en-suite bedrooms. The accommodation is within walking distance of the city centre and during their time in Cardiff, students will have entrances to Cardiff Castle as well as a tour of the city centre. They will also be taken to St Fagan’s National History Museum, a short coach journey away.

Stonehenge & London

On the way back to London the group will stop at Stonehenge. This mysterious stone circle lies in the middle of the English countryside and is believed to be around 5,000 years old. On their final day in London, students will be taken on the London Eye and to a musical show in the world-renowned West End.
