Space Camp
Space Camp Turkey is the third Space Camp in the world and the only one outside the United States and Europe. As a space and science education center, Space Camp Turkey is primarily focused on motivating young people from around the world in pursuing careers in science, math and technology. Through interactive, space-related simulations, both youth and adults also learn about communication, teamwork and leadership in a dynamic, fun-filled environment.
The camp’s most unique feature is its use of space simulators similar to those used by NASA. These include Space Shuttle Discovery, a replica of NASA’s orbiter; Mission Control, representing the controls for the shuttle’s systems; the Manned Maneuvering Unit, simulating how astronauts work in space; 5 Degrees of Freedom Chair, simulating the frictionless environment of space; and the Zero-G Wall, simulating the buoyancy felt when weightless.
Programs
Programs at Space Camp Turkey focus on simulators to give participants the sensations of working and living in space. In addition to this unique feature, the camp includes a wide variety of activities: astronomy, lab experiments, model rocket construction and launch, hot air balloon construction, a cultural night, pool activities, and dancing and game nights.
Cost
All fees include meals, accommodation, T-shirt, hat and educational program materials. The cost of the flight between Bangkok and Turkey is included.
