Football Training + English
In the Celtic Soccer Academy, your child can train like the professionals and learn all the techniques and tactics of football, alongside camp mates of all nationalities in a healthy environment.
The Football + English program consists of 15 hours of training per week combined with 15 hours of English weekly so that the youngsters have fun playing football at the same time as studying English Language. The camp is held at our City of Glasgow College campus which is situated in Glasgow city centre.
The students will also benefit from weekly presentations about health, nutrition and fitness, being a footballer in a foreign country and the importance of English by qualified football professionals.
There is also the opportunity to play football matches against local teams and tour the famous Celtic Park.

The Coaches
The coaching takes place at Celtic FC’s Barrowfield training ground. Coaching sessions will be delivered by Celtic FC Academy coaching staff.
The coaches and assistants are accredited and qualified to work as coaches by UEFA and all have extensive experience as football coaches to children and teenagers in a multicultural training environment.

The English Language course!
The Teachers
Teachers are native speakers with extensive experience in teaching groups of young people from various cultural backgrounds and of all ages.
The teachers are motivated and highly qualified with all certification required by the British Council to teach English to foreign students.

Accommodation

The rooms in which the children will stay are single, each room has a private toilet and shower facilities.
The facilities also include common rooms, where the children can relax and chat, as well as vending machines in case they feel like snacking outside of the timetabled mealtimes.
The residence also has a laundry room. The machines operate with coins, so any child that wants to can do their own laundry.
All mealtimes will take place in the camp cafeteria, except on excursion days, in which case the children will be given packed meals to take with them. For both lunch and dinner, there are various dishes from which to choose and there is always one vegetarian option.
The English Course
The youngsters will have 2 classes per day, from Monday to Friday, lasting 90 minutes each. This makes up a total of 15 hours of English per week. The course that is taught in this camp is accredited by the British Council.
Classes focus on practicing the language, with the objective of improving the children’s conversational skills.
On the first day, children will take a language level test so they can be assigned to groups of a maximum of 15 pupils. The children will be in constant contact with the language given that training sessions are also in English.
