Programs to match your goals
We offer a variety of programs at INTO Marshall to help you achieve your educational goals. The two types of programs for international students are English Language Programs and Academic Pathways.
Our English Language Programs are designed to improve your English skills for academic, personal or professional purposes. We offer semester-long English instruction for students looking to advance to degree programs and shorter programs for those looking to simply learn the language.
Our Academic Pathway programs are designed for international students with TOEFL or IELTS test scores lower than the requirement for direct entry to Marshall University. These programs help you improve your English skills while you begin classes toward your desired degree.

Direct admission to Marshall University
Undergraduate
- Do you have a TOEFL score of 78+ or IELTS score of 6.0+?
- Do you have a GPA of 2.5/4.0 or above?
Graduate
- Do you have a TOEFL score of 80+ iBT, or IELTS score of 6.5+?
- Do you have a GPA of 2.5/4.0 or above?
- Have you taken the GRE/GMAT (not required for all programs)?
Pathway and English language programs
INTO Marshall’s and Graduate Pathway programs are ideal for international students who need additional English language and academic preparation before continuing to a degree program at a US university.
INTO Marshall’s English language programs are for students who want to become confident English speakers by studying at a US university.
Cost Estimates
For I-20 purposes, all international students must submit an Affidavit of Support, which is part of the application process. Students must show sufficient funds to cover expenses for one academic year. These numbers are based on estimated costs of attendance and are subject to change.

If there is more than one financial sponsor, each sponsor must complete an Affidavit of Support indicating a specific dollar amount of annual support.
Students cannot confirm their place or receive an I-20 until required financial documents are on file.
