Established on the site of a former well known school, Myddelton College is a fresh new co-educational school for the county town of Denbigh. Created with a vision of academic excellence with British education values instilled, Myddelton College is the ideal place for your child to enjoy their education. The college, taking its name from the local Myddelton family who lived in the town, provides an all-round education for boys and girls aged 9-18 for pupils from all backgrounds and is proud of the diverse student body we have.
There is a fantastic family atmosphere at Myddelton College, our class sizes are small and the teacher to pupil ratio is generous, enabling our dedicated teachers to deliver tailored learning for pupils of all academic abilities and permitting every individual to find the opportunity to excel, this also means that we really get to know our students as individuals; what they excel at and if they need extra support.
Boarding at Myddelton College
The decision to board is a huge step for every family, but here at Myddelton College we endeavour to create a boarding ‘family’, a ‘home away from home’ by nurturing a supportive, stimulating environment for our students in order to make their boarding experience a positive and enriching one.
Boarding offers students so much more than just an education. At the end of each academic day there are will be a choice of extra-curricular activities for boarders. These could include learning a skill such as baking or animation, team sports such as hockey or football, stretching yourself in yoga or circuit training and an eco-aware activity in our veggie patch or biodiversity club. A regular talk from invited speakers on a range of fascinating topics is also planned for Wednesdays throughout the year.
Following tea, staff are on hand to help support you in your prep so that you can be better prepared for the next day’s lessons. This could include extra revision sessions, individual support and academic encouragement.
