Tennessee Tech University

The campus provides a stimulating campus environment located just about an hour’s drive from the vibrant city of Nashville. TTU is a comprehensive university, offering 44 Bachelor’s and 20 Graduate Degree programs across such academic divisions as Engineering, Business, Education, Arts and Sciences and Human Sciences.

Homestay

A homestay is a great way to experience American culture while improving your English ability! All of our centers offer homestay accommodation with American families individually selected by FLS. With your host family you’ll learn about American daily life, practice English on a regular basis and participate in many aspects of American culture that visitors often don’t get to see.

Dormitory

Life on campus offers students plenty of opportunity to interact with fellow students and make new friends. TTU has 15 residence halls, including accommodation for 2,650 students. All rooms are shared occupancy and are equipped for cable television and internet service, and are fully furnished.

Student Apartments

For students seeking an independent living experience, FLS TTU offers furnished apartment accommodation. TTU apartments come with wireless internet and cable TV and with access to the nearby university campus facilities, including fitness center. All apartments are only offered with twin accommodation and do not have meals included.

Cookeville, TN

Students have a range of choices for their after class activities. Many students choose to spend time with their new friends or their host family. Or take the free area shuttle bus to explore the town of Cookeville, which offers the Historic West Side shopping district, movies, bowling and over 100 restaurants and cafes. Outdoor lovers can explore the many nearby state parks, offering fishing, hiking and swimming.

Central Tennessee has mild to cool winters and hot summers; the state receives approximately 50 inches of rain annually and 5 inches of snow. Summer highs average from 31-33 degrees Celsius; winter highs average from 10-15 degrees Celsius.
